Artist's Comments

UPDATE 24-March-2007:
Amber G. liked my fanart and is now using it on her Myspace page. =3 How lovely!

EDIT: In light of a Myspace comment on Amber G's Myspace, I should mention that I am infact male. ^^" Says so on my Dev Art profile.

This is the digital pop singer, Amber G., done in the same style as my Usako render.

Gawsh, two postworked renders one day. xD

The face and body are more stylised than my Usako render due to it being primarily based off the coloured version of the "Take Me On" album artwork.

Just like the Usako render, this had a little postwork done to it to neaten it up...then I went overboard. What was meant to be a touchup became a postwork experiment. Through postwork i've altered her plaid skirt (same as Usako's) into a normal skirt (plus new shadows), altered her eyes to have a hard black outline, and altered her hair to look fuller (copy and pasting a section of the blowing hair, altering it, and then placing it behind her neck). So yah, spent more time on it then I should have really. ^^"

I first discovered Amber G. through a random banner ad at Sonic Vegemite (forums). After listening to her samples, needless to say I was impressed. She's a really good singer, and her background music is flawless. My only gripe is her character design, both how she can't keep to one and those little awkward pigtails in her "Take On Me" design (which I didn't include in this).

Also, I really like "Passing Time", but after listening to the full track of the unplugged version on her Myspace, feel that some parts of the song let it down in messyness, especially in the timing of lyrics in the second verse. Some words were stretched out too much and gave the impression of someone trying to sing the exact literal translation of a foreign song, regardless of the syllable difference. Regardless of that, the song is great, and has a really catchy chorus (I find myself singing it to myself sometimes ^^").

I'm currently planning on buying her cover version of Aha's "Take On Me" off iTunes when I get the chance, and maybe the original version of "Passing Time".

As usual, rendered in Poser 6, toon shaders courtasy of Caio Amaro. All the clothes she's wearing have been bought from [link] (as is Aiko3, the base figure). Hair by Yamato with various new 'curly hair' morphs by yours truely.

Yah, the hair morphs are my own. You may remember this one time when I first discovered the power of magnets and went mad with them (and waves) on this hair. ^^"

I've never regretted it. =D

I personally prefer to create morphs in 3DSMAX because it gives me precision controls for little details. I am currently studying ZBrush to see what it can do. ^^
